Recovering from Eating Disorders
The group focuses on helping participants break free from obsessive and disordered relationships with food, whether that is under or over eating. The group focuses on the over-use of exercise and other unhealthy ways to lose weight as well as problems with body image. Group members will learn how avoiding the emotional pain in their lives has resulted in the development and maintenance of eating disorders. Skills and support will be offered to build internal strength and confidence, address life problems, develop a new relationship with eating, let go of unhealthy body expectations and embark on a life free of disordered eating.
The group is 12 sessions long and lasts for 1.5 hours for females and males ages 18 and over. Each session is $40. If there is a relevant mental health issue we may be able to bill your insurance. In order to determine this our facilitator, Rebecca Brumm, MA, LPC, will conduct an initial individual intake session with you. Please see our Insurance page for more information.
